About The Authors Vinay Kumar is the Alice Hogge & Arthur Baer Professor of Pathology at the University of Chicago. He has authored Robbins and Cotran Pathologic Basis of Disease. Vinay Kumar was born in 1944 in India and completed his MBBS from Punjab University Medical College in Amritsar. He received the Pfizer Award and a gold medal for the best graduate student. He completed his PhD from All India Institute of Medical Sciences in experimental pathology. He was awarded with Khanolkar Prize for his outstanding achievement in research in his field.
Abul K. Abbas is a professor and the Chair at the Department of Pathology, University of California, San Francisco. Some of his best known books are Cellular And Molecular Immunology and Basic Immunology. Abul K. Abbas completed his MBBS from All India Institute of Medical Sciences and his residency training at Peter Bent Brigham Hospital in Boston, MA. Later, he joined the Department of Pathology at Harvard Medical School as a research fellow. Abul K. Abbas has received several honours and awards including the Irving M. London Award from the Harvard-MIT MD Program in Health Sciences and Technology. Abbas has published more than 190 papers and has also worked at the editorial board of several journals.
Jon C. Aster is a professor of Pathology at Harvard Medical School and also a pathologist at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, MA. Jon C. Aster did his MD and PhD from the University of Michigan, School of Medicine, and became a resident at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital.
