Foreword Journalism education in Bangladesh is about 50 years old. Journalism, as a profession, is now enough matured as a part of democratic process. The professionals are identified with journalistic struggle in a developing country like Bangladesh. They are contributing potently to the shaping of the culture of free and open media and a large chunk of this professional group is the product of journalism and communication schools. Since the inception of Journalism education in 1962 in the University of Dhaka and later in several other public and private universities, only a few books have been published in this discipline. The students of Journalism in several universities had to depend on foreign books.
