About the Author
Aparna Viswanathan (AB Harvard University and JD University of Michigan Law School) called to the Bar in England (of Lincoln’s Inn), New York, Washington DC, California, and India, is a practicing lawyer and founding partner of Viswanathan & Co, Advocates, with offices in New Delhi, Bangalore and Chennai. After years of practice in both the United States and India working on international transactions, she is particularly well placed to examine cyber law in India in a comparative perspective with U.S. and English law.

She is a well-published author having published over 70 articles in leading international law journals on data protection, intellectual property rights, employment law and other corporate law issues as well as many articles in the Indian national press. She has extensively lectured on data protection, employment law, IP and IT issues under the aegis of the Practicing Law Institute, the British Institute for International and Comparative Law, the Institute for International and Comparative Law, Plano, Texas, the Confederation of Indian Industries, the Indo-American Chamber of Commerce as well as numerous other fora and is an officer of the Technology Committee of the International Bar Association. Her first book, “Outsourcing to India: Cross-Border Legal Issues” was published by Lexis Nexis Butterworths Wadhwa in 2008.
